what i keep, and what i don't
privacy
pantry mojo is a memory, not a marketer. here's exactly what i keep, why, and what i'll never do — in plain words.
what i collect
- your email — to sign you in, via google or a one-time magic link. if you use google, i only get your email and name, nothing else from your account.
- your receipts — the store, items, prices, and dates you add. that's the whole point: it's your grocery price memory.
- a little usage data — enough to keep the app running and fix it when it breaks.
what i use it for
- showing you your own price history and gentle observations — “this went up. $1.99 → $2.29 at patel.”
- building shared price signals — but only as anonymized, aggregated numbers across everyone (“olive oil is typically ~$9 at costco”). never tied to you, never “who bought what.”
what i'll never do
sell your data. run ads against it. share your receipts with anyone. that's not the deal, and it never will be.
where your data lives
on a private, access-controlled database i run. every row is scoped to you — other people literally can't query your receipts, even by accident.
your data, your call
want it gone? email me and i'll delete your account and everything in it. self-serve export & delete are on the way.
cookies
just what's needed to keep you signed in. no tracking or advertising cookies.
changes
if any of this changes, i'll update this page and note the date below.
